Geological field trip

One day tour, organized on Friday 15th, June 2007, 8h-17h.

The trip will go to Massif Central close to Saint-Étienne: thermodynamics and the understanding of volcanic rocks and of earth mantle (study of enclaves), self-organized patterns occurring during the solidification and/or cooling of volcanic rocks.

This visit will be organized by members of the CNRS team “Magmas and volcanoes” (UMR CNRS n° 6524, Clermont-Ferrand and Saint-Étienne):
Pierre BOIVIN, Jean-Yves COTTIN, Bernard GUY, Didier LAPORTE, with the help of Ariel PROVOST, Dimitri IONOV, Jacques ROUX, Jean DUBESSY, Daniel Garcia.

Prepare good shoes or mountain boots and clothes for sun and rain. Lunch will be distributed  on the way.

Registration to the geological field trip will be requested at the same time as registration for the general conference (deadline: 31th January, 2007)
Price: € 30, including bus transportation and lunch.
