Exhibition on thermodynamics
An exhibition on thermodynamics will be prepared by the students of École des mines under the supervision of La ROTONDE group (Popularisation of Science) led by Emilie POURCHEZ:
history of thermodynamics, important names, great inventions etc. Making of models.
Special activities: history of steam machine and steam locomotive for which engineers from Saint-Étienne brought important improvement in the XIXth century.
The exhibition will be visited by young schoolboys and schoolgirls from Saint-Étienne area. The way they react to the exhibition will be studied by a group of researchers from École normale supérieure de Lyon (pedagogy of science).
Book exhibition
A (small) exhibition of books on thermodynamics will be held. In particular, the participants to the conference who have written a book are invited to bring a copy along for this exhibition. Some editors will also be invited.
