In the field of Security and more particularly Hardware Security, 2018 gets off to a flying start with the large scale communication of Meltdown and Spectre attacks, both exploiting vulnerabilities of modern processors. Earlier, another communication makes the headlines with a complete attack against smart lamps (“IoT goes nuclear”) highlighting - once more - the considerable extent of the threat against IoT networks.
In this context, PHISIC workshop aims at providing an environment for exchange among academic and industrial stakeholders of the embedded security arena. More precisely, PHISIC’2018 expects to:
- contribute and share ideas on the latest trends in terms of academic research, collaborative projects and industrial challenges
- identify future security trends
- exchange on advanced practices in physical attacks (fault injection and side channel analysis) and efficient protection schemes
- discuss the security features of critical systems (IoT networks, Cyber-Physical Systems...)
